Ep 24: Using the Past to Navigate the Future
In this episode of Direct Approach, Wayne is joined by direct selling legend and international business strategist Larry Thompson, whom the Wall Street Journal has called “the Architect of Wealth Building.”
With more than 54 years of experience in the direct sales industry, Larry Thompson was the mastermind marketing strategist who guided Herbalife to its first $1 billion in sales. Since then, he has gone on to create The Millionaire Training program, which he uses to teach basic business fundamentals to everyone from stay-at-home moms to schoolteachers to rocket scientists.
Larry continues being a coach and mentor to many in the industry, using training concepts he developed more than four decades ago. Today on Direct Approach, Larry and Wayne talk about what has changed in direct selling, what hasn’t, and what it means both to companies and distributors. They talk about the importance of learning the fundamentals and the significance of understanding the dynamics of audience, language and behavior. And they’ll also look at the role the gig economy plays in attracting and retaining talent—and why what attracts distributors today is much different than in years past.
