Ep 28: Harnessing the Power of Passion
In this episode, host Wayne Moorehead is joined by John Licari, Chief Operating Officer of Total Life Changes.
Total Life Changes (TLC) was founded in 1999 as a nutrition supplement company and today it boasts a full line of products designed for weight management, full-body nutrition, skincare and more. Fueled by positivity, passion and purpose, Total Life Changes has created a culture built around relationships—with its employees, distributors and customers.
While working on a production line for Ford motor company, John reluctantly joined TLC part-time in 2003, persuaded by his friend and company founder, Jack Fallon. In the early years, they worked out of Jack’s basement and John gradually fell in love with both the product and the business model.
In this episode of Direct Approach, John and Wayne talk about his unusual path to discovering direct sales and he reveals some of the risks he took to help propel the company’s growth. John also shares what he believes all direct selling companies can learn from Amazon, why it’s important to rethink the legacy sales model for a digital generation and why collaboration amongst companies in the channel is our best bet for the future. You’ll also hear why attitude is so critical to success and how it guides his most important leadership principles.
